About Us
Imperial Blasting is owned and run by Cameron & Vanessa Manewell.

Previous to Imperial Blasting they ran Aussiexport, a Vehicle Importing and Exporting business, primarily specialising in restoration of XA-XC Falcon Coupes, inc Mad Max Interceptors. The business was based at Heatherbrae and dealt with customers worldwide. They also Imported XW & XY Fairmont GTs, Monaros and Capri Peranas from South Africa. They bought and sold numerous vehicles and restored many of them (see just a couple of examples below). As part of exporting vehicles Cam always needed to be honest and upfront with his clients so they knew exactly what they were buying. This trait follows through strongly with the blasting and you can be assured that Cam will tell you exactly whats happening with your pride and joy. As you will see from our site, we pride ourselves on providing as much infomation as possible and also by finishing your car in the special clear coating, you can see exactly what you've got, no hidden supprises.

Imperial blasting was opened in 2007 after Cam got sick of not being able to find a decent automotive blaster in the area. Being well involved with the automotive scene in NSW and doing regular trade stands, Cam regularly spoke to people about their restorations. The topic of blasting came up frequently and the common consensis was that there was no-one in the area that could consistently provide a quality result or any decent level of customer service. After several months of research Cam decided to take matters into his own hands and open a blasting business with a difference, one directed solely at the Automotive market. There was already dozens of Industrial blasters in the Hunter Region, but no Automotive only blast specialists. So from that point Imperial Blasting was opened and has never looked back. We now firmly believe we offer the best quality finish and service in the country.


Cam spent countless hours researching and testing different blast medias and blasting techniques until he settled on the methods that gave the best results with the lowest possible profile, with no panel distortion and the least amount of prep left before painting.

All staff at Imperial Blasting are trained in house, industrial blast experience is one of the few things that completely rule out potential employees. All staff must have a keen interest in cars and restoration.

Imperial Blastings reputation has bought in many unqiue and valuable vehicles from across the state, along with many equiries from across the country, both from potential customers to other blasters wanting to know our secrets.


Imperial Blastings workshop is designed entirely for Automotive blasting, we have 2 rotisseries (we hand fabricate brackets to suit virtually any vehicle, check out the gallery for pics), vehicle body carts, various lifting equipment to handle body shells, panel stands, and our blast chamber is designed to accomodate vehicles only. It is not an old spray booth, but a custom built enclosure that is tall enough inside to accomodate our overhead lifting frame, along with vehicles at full height on rotisseries. We don't just blast in an open workshop or out in a yard. Our blast chamber is fully lite for the best possible visability, humidty control and work cover compliant.

Some other blasters in the area have taken Imperial Blastings success as personal failure on their own behalf and find their only way to compete is to spread rumours and factless lies. However Imperial Blastings continual growth and wide spread customer base continues to disprove them. Our regular clients include Kranky Kustoms (Thornton), Kingpins Kustom Paint (Redhead), Tony's Bodyworks (Heatherbrae), Pro Street Restorations (Cessnock), along with almost every other reputable vehicle restoration shop in the area. Imperial Blasting doesn't cut corners, and our reputation is paramount.

Cam welcomes any questions about blasting, no mater where in the country you are, he regularly helps people with advice on what to ask there local blaster before getting there car done. Imperial Blasting also welcomes you to come to the workshop and have a look at some of their current jobs to check the quality before booking in your pride and joy. Imperial Blasting generally have between 3 & 5 cars a week in the workshop, so there is always something to see.
